2014 Press

CARGOTEC CORPORATION, PRESS RELEASE, 5 NOVEMBER 2014 AT 10 AM (EET)

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is arranging an interactive one-hour webinar today, on 5 November, on the Kalmar AutoStrad™ application at the Fisherman's Island terminal of Patrick in Brisbane. The webinar includes a presentation, live chat and a questions and answers session.

There has been an increasing interest in the market towards Kalmar automated systems. As part of the system offering, Kalmar is developing its Automatic Horizontal Transportation System (AHTS) and Kalmar AutoStrad™ solutions continuously.

The AHTS is a system that works between the ship-to-shore (STS) cranes and automatic stacking cranes (ASCs) in terminals like TraPac in Los Angeles, USA. The Kalmar AutoStrad™ system is used in automated straddle carrier terminals like Patrick in Brisbane, Australia.

The AHTS and AutoStrad™ systems are currently based on different software platforms and navigation systems. The AHTS is based on Kalmar integrated mega terminal control system called TLS (Terminal Logistic System) and magnet navigation, whereas the AutoStrad™ system is based on Kalmar RTCS (Real Time Control System) and radar navigation. Kalmar is further developing the modularity of the systems so that the optimum solution including functions and features from both systems can be identified and used for each customer case.

Join the Kalmar Webinar to find out how the automation system has established new safety records and delivered excellent crane productivity while substantially reducing the costs.

The recorded webinar will be available later for viewing on Kalmar's YouTube channel.
